Members Mtg Mins. 05-08

President's Report:
04-08 Labor/Mngt Mtg cancelled and next mtg scheduled for 05-27-08;
New radios distributed prior to 05-01-08 and no problems reported;
Overtime book will be placed in central control to allow accessibility;
C. Dougherty has volunteered to review overtime equalization charts;
Due to lack of funds, only the President will be sent to contract negs.
E-Board appointed B. Cooper as Chief Steward (Eff. 04-25-08);
Big success for STA IV(s) - shift changes will take affect 10 days after paper is processed;
Galls will not be handling uniforms for security staff. Both Union and Management realize
the need to expedite the issue;
Nine (9) new STA trainees started 05-12-08. All signed up for union membership.
Only one signed up for MVP;
Local 3416 has only five fee payors only. Members need to work on this. With 100%
participation, local 3416 would be the only local state-wide with 100% participation'
Temperatures in control centers are being looked at;

Unfinished business and matters to be discussed at Labor/Mgnt Mtg
Second microwave in breakroom;
Resident handbooks;
Updated policy and procedures;
Better communication between staff and shifts;
Health & Safety Committee - need to get first meeting scheduled.

New Business:
Interest expressed in getting flag made for Local 3416;
Suggestion made to have dietary works use knives in prep. rooms only;
M.A.T. in developmental stage;
SCBA - is maintenance responsible for checking tanks on a routine basis?;
Rotation of posts - there are pros/cons to permanent posts vs rotation of posts;
